Role Overview

As a new graduate AI engineer, you will help shape key user experiences and speed up how people find value in the product. The role involves solving impactful problems with increasing independence, writing code that reaches a large user base, making important technical decisions, and contributing your viewpoint to product direction. You will collaborate with design, product, and data teams to influence how people work in the AI era.

This position is a strategic partner role focused on advancing the company’s AI direction. You will work on modern AI-driven capabilities using large language models, embeddings, and related technologies to make the product more intelligent and capable.

Potential Team Focus Areas

• AI product engineering: developing model-enabled features from end to end, including the interface, APIs, retrieval, orchestration, quality, and reliability.
• Model and systems engineering: improving how models are integrated and how they perform, including latency, cost, safety, and robustness, while also supporting model serving and experimentation infrastructure.
• Evaluation and quality work: creating evaluation systems and automated or human-in-the-loop testing methods to measure and improve both model and product quality.

What You Will Work On

• Collaborate with your team to prototype and launch an AI-enhanced product improvement.
• Own a focused productionization initiative such as introducing a new model or technique into an existing workflow, adding monitoring and safeguards, or improving latency, cost, or reliability.
• Build or extend evaluation sets, run experiments, review outcomes, and turn the findings into product or system improvements.

Qualifications

• You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• You must be able to begin full-time work before July 27, 2026.
• You have prior internship experience.
• You are working toward proficiency in one or more programming languages such as TypeScript, React, or Python.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

• You enjoy building and prototyping quickly, and you have already started exploring AI or machine learning through coursework, projects, internships, or hackathons.
• You understand how different product layers connect, including UI, APIs, and data, and you have some familiarity with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
• You can take an idea from a prototype to a working feature with guidance.
• You approach problems thoughtfully, break ambiguous challenges into smaller parts, and refine solutions using feedback.
• You communicate well in writing and in meetings, and you are comfortable sharing early work, asking for help, and learning in public.
• You enjoy working closely with engineers and cross-functional teammates across product, design, and data.
• You care about building the right solution, not just the fastest one, and you make decisions based on user needs and outcomes.
• You understand that products can reach millions of people and therefore think carefully about impact.

Preferred Background

• Experience with any part of the stack used by the team, such as React, TypeScript, Node.js, or Postgres.
• A track record of building software solutions for yourself or for others.
• Interest in how technology affects society and awareness of the responsibilities that come with building technology.
• Familiarity with computing pioneers such as Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, and similar figures.

Compensation

For roles based in San Francisco and New York, the estimated base salary range is $126,000 to $146,000 per year. Final compensation may vary depending on location, scope, complexity, experience, and expertise. The company also states that compensation includes highly competitive cash pay, equity, and benefits.
