Role summary

Supercast provides premium subscription infrastructure for leading podcasters and creators. It supports creators such as Huberman Lab, This American Life, Peter Attia, and My Favorite Murder in building direct audience relationships and recurring income through paid content and community experiences.

After being acquired by Red Seat Ventures, a Fox Corp. company, Supercast is moving into a new stage of product growth and investment. The team is broadening its product vision beyond podcast subscriptions to explore additional tools that help podcast-first creators grow, engage, and monetize their audiences.

As a Software Engineer reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will collaborate closely with Product and Design to build experiences used by thousands of creators and hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Your work will influence how creators launch, scale, and manage subscription businesses, and how listeners discover and interact with the content they value.

The company’s broader mission is to build the operating system for creator-led media businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Address customer problems and deliver product enhancements across the Supercast platform, working on both server-side and client-side code within a Ruby on Rails application.
• Partner with internal teams and customers to identify pain points, then coordinate with engineering to resolve issues and ship improvements.
• Take ownership of assigned work through to completion, making sure projects meet adoption and success targets before closing them out.

What you need

• Comfort working with customers and cross-functional teams, with some prior experience in that type of collaboration in a development role or another position.
• At least 2 years of software development experience, preferably in a startup or small-team environment.
• Exposure to Ruby on Rails through formal study, a bootcamp, or self-directed learning.
• An example project that demonstrates your abilities would be a strong advantage.
• Understanding of relational database design and how to model straightforward data structures.
• Prior experience with Hotwire or View Components would be a significant plus.
• Ability to use AI tools carefully and productively as part of your development process.

Working arrangement

This is a remote-first role. The team is distributed across North America, and your working hours should generally align with the Pacific to Eastern Time window.

Compensation and benefits

The annual pay range for this position in Toronto, Canada is CAD 98,000 to CAD 110,000. Final compensation will depend on education, skills, experience, and location. In addition to base pay, the role may include an annual discretionary bonus, a long-term incentive plan, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, insurance, vacation, paid time off, and other plan-based benefits.
