Role Overview
This opening is for a Senior Project Manager to join the consultancy team and take responsibility for leading major transport assignments, including Bus Connects. The position involves overseeing the complete design process and acting as the main point of contact between the client and all other relevant parties.
The role sits within a multidisciplinary consultancy setting and offers ownership of high-profile infrastructure work. The successful candidate will be a Chartered Engineer with more than 10 years of experience, strong project delivery knowledge, and a proven track record in design coordination, team leadership, and stakeholder management. The role also contributes to shaping company strategy and delivering integrated transport solutions in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the planning, design, and delivery of major infrastructure schemes.
- Act as the main contact for the client and all critical stakeholders.
- Make sure project outputs meet agreed scope, timelines, budget, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Develop and sustain productive working relationships with clients, public bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and encourage collaboration and strong performance.
- Manage and coordinate specialist sub-consultants involved in the work.
- Guide scheme development and delivery approach.
- Track project progress and overall performance.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or an equivalent recognised professional organisation.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, roads, or transport infrastructure.
- Proven ability to manage complex infrastructure projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong experience in client and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on long-term relationships and high satisfaction levels.
- Solid technical knowledge of road design, traffic management, public transport, and/or active travel.
- Working familiarity with transport design guidance such as DMURS, the National Cycle Design Manual, NTA PAGs, and TII Publications.
- Excellent verbal communication and report-writing abilities.
