Role overview

This role is centered on strategic analytics at the crossroads of product, finance, and data. You will turn complicated product and business usage information into practical insights that support important decisions. The focus of the team is profitability, so your analysis will help shape pricing, cost structure, and unit economics across both hardware and software offerings.

You will work on senior-level, often open-ended questions that require a strong analytical structure, sound judgment, and a commercial mindset. The position involves close collaboration with product, technology, finance, and executive stakeholders to assess margin performance and uncover levers that can improve profitability. It is a high-accountability environment where clarity must be built from imperfect or messy data, and the outputs directly affect growth, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle analysis of COGS, gross margin, and unit economics for hardware and software product lines, ensuring the findings are accurate and relevant to the business.
• Create financial and scenario-based models to assess cost drivers, test improvement options, and support profitability-focused decisions.
• Convert broad executive questions into well-defined analytical approaches and deliver recommendations grounded in data.
• Work with data engineering, product, and finance partners to verify data inputs, define metrics, and assemble dependable analysis-ready datasets.
• Develop repeatable analytical frameworks and supporting documentation that improve consistency and make profitability insights easier to reuse.
• Help raise the standard of analytical practice by improving data quality, tooling, and operational discipline within the Strategic Analytics team.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in analytics, strategic finance, FP&A, consulting, or another quantitative function with strong financial modeling exposure.
• Advanced SQL knowledge and the ability to independently query and work with large, complex datasets.
• Strong grasp of unit economics, including gross margin, contribution margin, cost structure, and the factors that influence profitability.
• Demonstrated ability to break down unclear business problems into structured analyses and practical recommendations.
• Excellent executive-level communication skills, with experience presenting findings to senior leadership or C-suite audiences.
• High autonomy, curiosity, and comfort working in fast-moving environments with limited structure.
• Experience navigating complex or low-quality data and building dependable analytical foundations from the ground up.
