SAP Basis Administrator

Role overview

The company is seeking an SAP Basis Administrator to oversee and fine-tune its SAP S/4HANA landscape and supporting IT infrastructure. This position also provides regional IT assistance across multiple locations, with a strong focus on maintaining availability, protecting systems, supporting performance, and helping ensure business continuity. The role requires flexibility to work across different sites as business needs change.

Key responsibilities

• Handle the installation, setup, ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and support of SAP environments across development, QA, production, and disaster recovery systems.
• Keep SAP platforms running reliably by managing performance, system health checks, capacity planning, and high-availability requirements.
• Carry out SAP kernel updates, patching, support package deployments, transport handling, and system refresh tasks.
• Administer SAP users, roles, authorizations, and access controls to maintain secure and compliant system usage.
• Maintain backup integrity, confirm restore readiness, and support disaster recovery capabilities for business continuity.
• Assist with SAP HANA database administration, including monitoring performance, backups, and basic issue resolution.
• Support SAP infrastructure hosted on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, storage, and network-related dependencies.
• Manage incidents and problems related to SAP and broader IT operations, perform root-cause analysis, and drive preventive fixes.
• Work with SAP support teams, cloud providers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and support projects.

Candidate profile

• A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, preferably with Computer Science or Information Technology as the major.
• Recognized certification, such as SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP S/4HANA System Administration.
• Demonstrated strength in SAP Basis administration, system monitoring, and SAP landscape management.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in SAP Basis administration along with exposure to enterprise IT support.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP ECC environments.
• Prior work in cloud-based SAP environments is an advantage.
