Retail Assistant

Role overview

Repco is seeking a Retail Assistant for its Te Awamutu store. The position runs from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You’ll be part of a friendly, energetic team with access to staff discounts and opportunities to learn and grow.

What you’ll do

This customer-facing role is centered on creating a positive in-store experience. You’ll welcome customers, help them find the right products, offer guidance, suggest relevant add-ons where appropriate, and complete sales at the register.

• Deliver helpful, genuine service that creates memorable customer interactions.
• Use your customer service skills to support strong store sales.
• Maintain high standards for showroom presentation and merchandising.
• Handle stock tasks such as receiving, dispatching, and storing goods.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate is people-oriented and thrives in a retail environment. Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred, though full product training will be provided. An interest in automotive products is an advantage, but strong customer service motivation matters most.

You should be comfortable dealing with a wide range of customers, confident in sales situations, and able to communicate clearly over the phone and in person. A team-first mindset and a positive, can-do attitude are important. The role also involves lifting, bending, and climbing.
