Role overview
Starbucks is looking for a program manager to join the Hospitality & Standards organization in Seattle, WA. This role focuses on leading large, cross-functional initiatives that improve the partner and customer experience inside coffeehouses. The work centers on Green Apron Service, the Starbucks Standards Framework, store safety, service recovery, and overall coffeehouse conditions. The position is designed to turn enterprise goals into practical standards and solutions that can be implemented consistently at scale.
Strategic alignment and standards development
- Own the full program lifecycle, from early planning through rollout and execution, while coordinating work across multiple teams.
- Convert broad company priorities into clear standards, processes, and tools that strengthen the in-store experience for partners and customers.
- Build, update, and sustain frameworks and resources that enable reliable execution across coffeehouses.
- Use strategic judgment to spot opportunities that improve service quality, safety, coffeehouse conditions, recovery from service issues, and operating effectiveness.
Program leadership and governance
- Develop strong working relationships across functions to support collaboration and shared ownership.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and decision making when priorities compete or change.
- Set up program governance, track risks and dependencies, and keep stakeholders informed throughout delivery.
- Influence leaders and partners across the business to secure alignment, commitment, and follow-through.
Execution, change, and continuous improvement
- Help implement new standards, processes, and solutions so they are successfully adopted in coffeehouses.
- Define success measures and track performance to confirm the work is producing measurable business results.
- Gather input from field leaders, store teams, and cross-functional partners to refine and improve solutions over time.
- Ensure initiatives are practical, scalable, and durable while balancing partner experience, customer experience, and business needs.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings strong program management experience in a large matrixed environment, along with the ability to turn data into decisions and lead complex initiatives with visible impact. This person should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, setting priorities, and influencing stakeholders across functions. A collaborative working style, strong business judgment, and the ability to lead high-performing cross-functional teams are important. An MBA or equivalent degree is preferred.
Benefits and compensation

Vacation accrual varies by state and level. In CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND, and RI, vacation can accrue up to 120 hours for roles below director and 200 hours for roles at director or above, with higher caps in California. In other states, vacation begins at 120 hours per year for roles below director and 200 hours per year for director-level and above roles. Benefit availability may vary based on collective bargaining agreements and applicable laws.
