Role Overview
Uber Technologies, Inc. is hiring a Program Manager for its Chicago, Illinois office. This is a full-time role focused on building and running a standardized, high-performing program that coordinates work across regions in a fast-moving environment. The position may also be performed remotely.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual pay range for this role is $118,000 to $144,000. In addition to base pay, the selected candidate may participate in Uber’s bonus program and may be eligible for other forms of compensation. The role also comes with access to a range of employee benefits.
What You Will Do
You will lead initiatives that improve operational outcomes and customer experience, especially in areas tied to refund and appeasement decisions when false positives occur. The role calls for close cross-functional partnership, strong problem framing, and a structured approach to delivering measurable results.
- Create and run a standardized program that can operate across multiple regions under tight timelines.
- Use both quantitative and qualitative input to build a deeper understanding of customer experience.
- Work with your own team and partner teams to combine viewpoints, define the core problem, and shape effective solutions.
- Set up processes and performance management methods that improve remediation and recovery experiences.
- Align projects and key stakeholders so initiatives support broader customer support and product priorities.
- Define project scope clearly, including charters with strong problem statements, metrics, and baseline data.
- Build reporting rhythms to track performance, trends, and project progress.
- Identify process and operating-model improvements that can create strategic impact at a global scale.
- Act as a trusted strategic partner in improving the customer experience.
Requirements
The employer will consider applicants with a bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Digital Media, Production Operations, or a related discipline, along with 2 years of experience in the role or a similar one.
- 2 years of experience using data analysis to guide customer-centered decisions and encourage behavior change.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Background in process design and optimization, program management, customer support strategy, financial fraud management, and quality assurance.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and cross-team alignment.
- Familiarity with financial management systems, including dashboards and query-based monitoring to track money movement, spot spikes, adjust policies, or surface technical issues with partner teams to control spend.
- Ability to use JIRA for workload tracking and partner-team requests.
- Experience applying RAPID, RACI, and Gantt chart frameworks to coordinate alignment across teams.
- Ability to use Tableau and Looker Studio to gather and synthesize dashboard insights.
