Role overview
This is a specialist hands-on position based in Borehamwood, where the focus is on ultra-precise assembly work for advanced music-production equipment. The role suits someone who enjoys detailed, careful technical work and takes pride in achieving exact standards. The work has a craftsmanship feel, similar to watchmaking, fine jewellery work, or delicate technical assembly.
About the company
The employer is building a new model for physical music manufacturing. Its patented on-demand vinyl and CD technology is designed to open up physical releases to more than 250 million music creators around the world, without upfront setup costs or minimum production runs.
What you will do
- Build precision audio parts according to detailed technical instructions.
- Check component quality and confirm that each stage of assembly meets specification.
- Operate precision measurement tools including micrometers, dial gauges, and feeler gauges.
- Spot defects, inconsistencies, or out-of-tolerance parts and raise them promptly.
- Keep complete records of serial numbers, measurements, and tolerance data.
- Collaborate with installation staff to fit assembled parts into production machines.
- Help improve assembly methods, supporting documents, and workflow standards.
- Keep the work area tidy, controlled, and suitable for precision manufacturing.

Required experience and strengths
- Background in precision manual assembly such as watchmaking, medical devices, jewellery, or fine engineering.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and excellent fine motor control.
- Confidence using precision instruments and magnification equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work to very tight tolerances.
- High attention to detail with a quality-first mindset.
- Reliable and disciplined record-keeping habits.
Additional experience that would be useful
- Exposure to mechanical engineering or machining work.
- Experience assembling or testing audio-related products.
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.

Working arrangement
