Overview
Fleetwood is seeking an experienced Painter to join its modular construction operations in Kangaroo Flat, Victoria. This opportunity is suited to someone who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, values variety in day-to-day tasks, and enjoys contributing to a project from early stages through to completion.
The role is available as either a casual arrangement with a 40-hour week and RDO included, or on a maximum-term contract, depending on what best suits the candidate. The expected start is as soon as possible, around mid-July, and the assignment is confirmed through to November 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Get surfaces ready for painting and finishing.
- Maintain a strong standard of quality and attention to detail in all work.
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and operating to a high housekeeping standard.
- Work closely with project managers and teammates to help deliver tasks on schedule.
- Set a good example and guide apprentices through support and mentoring.
- Carry out repainting, rework, and refurbishment tasks where needed.
- Handle maintenance and repair work as required.
- Follow WHSEQ rules and safe work procedures at all times.
What You Need
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a comparable painting position.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, environment, and quality practices.
- Willingness to learn, work diligently, and continue developing professionally.
- Understanding of the building industry is preferred.
- Comfort working in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Ability to contribute effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, punctual, and reliable in day-to-day work.
- Comfortable working both under cover and outdoors.
- Interest in building new skills and expanding practical capability.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, a current Australian driver’s licence, and a Construction White Card. A High Risk Forklift Licence is an advantage but not mandatory.
