Job Summary

This role works closely with the General Manager to shape branch strategy and deliver on branch goals. The Operations Manager oversees the full range of branch operations, including the Service Department, Equipment Department, Customer Service, Accounting, and Inventory. The position is also responsible for applying strong operating practices across the branch.

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee branch financial performance, including profit and loss results, against set targets.
  • Work with the Branch Manager to build budgets and assign financial resources in support of business objectives.
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, and provide decisions and recommendations on overdue accounts.
  • Help create a branch-wide customer service culture and address customer issues or complaints.
  • Supervise Customer Service staff and manage the Service Department.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction with Patterson and take action where needed.
  • Manage inventory processes for merchandise, parts, and equipment, including stock turnover.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and take part in liquidating excess inventory.
  • Build a team culture based on trust, respect, commitment, productivity, and morale.
  • Evaluate the performance of direct reports, provide coaching and mentoring, and prepare performance improvement plans when required.
  • Take part in hiring and promotion decisions and help identify staffing needs to ensure full coverage of branch work.

People Management

  • Lead direct reports through hiring, development, performance reviews, goal setting, and other supervisory responsibilities.
  • Ensure team members understand and follow company policies, business practices, and the Code of Conduct.
  • Support a work environment that is productive, respectful, and aligned with organizational expectations.

Additional Duties

  • Implement policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards across the branch.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or have an equivalent amount of relevant work experience. Strong general computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office, are required. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record must be maintained. Preferred background includes a degree in general business, prior management experience, and experience in finance, inventory management, accounting, or human resources. Familiarity with the dental industry is also an advantage.
