Role overview
Holroyd Howe is hiring a Kitchen Porter for a prestigious independent school close to Petworth in West Sussex. The role is based at South Downs Lavington Park, a 400-acre Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is a full-time position offering 40 hours per week and a salary of £30,160 per year.
The business places strong emphasis on employee wellbeing and work-life balance, and the school setting offers a varied schedule across term time and school breaks.
Working pattern
During term time, the shifts usually alternate between 7:15am-5:30pm and 10:30am-7:00pm. Most weeks are Monday to Friday, with around 10 weekends worked across the year. Outside term time, the usual pattern is Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.
Main duties
The kitchen porter will support the handling and movement of supplier deliveries, manage storage areas, and help coordinate food and hospitality deliveries across the estate to different outlets as part of a five-person kitchen porter team.
What the role calls for
Applicants should bring a solid understanding of health and safety, a flexible and customer-oriented mindset, strong organisational ability, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Travel and licence requirements
