Role Overview
The University of South Carolina system is seeking a Key Administrator to support SAAS Custodial, Move Crew, and Facilities Administration in Columbia, South Carolina. This full-time position focuses on safeguarding access across housing operations, maintaining precise key and lock records, and supporting a secure environment for residents and staff.

What You Will Do
This position is responsible for managing housing keys, monitoring lock and core changes, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating access control activities across multiple buildings. The role also supports after-hours key-related issues and participates in an on-call rotation that helps cover Work Control operations around the clock, every day of the year.
- Oversee the full inventory of Housing Staff keys, which includes more than 100 keys, and define key management procedures as approved by the supervisor.
- Prepare work orders that document related activities and keep detailed records of installed locks, lock changes, key replacements, and similar information for more than 30 buildings and over 8,000 residents.
- Track and coordinate temporary, construction, and permanent lock/core replacements.
- Update key codes whenever locks are changed and new keys are issued for more than 30 buildings.
- Work with electronic key box vendors and monitor key box security and related systems.
- Handle key-related calls after normal hours when needed.
- Serve in the on-call rotation supporting 24/7/365 Work Control operations.
Requirements
The role calls for strong organizational ability, excellent customer service, and clear interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Solid computer skills are also necessary. The position is designated essential during inclement weather, hazardous conditions, and other emergencies.

Preferred Background
