Role overview
Spendless Shoes is seeking an IT Support Technician to join its Gillman, Adelaide site. This position is well suited to someone at the beginning of their IT career who is practical, approachable, and motivated to solve problems. The role sits within a supportive environment and offers a pathway to advance into Level 2 Support, Application Support, or IT Project positions.
What you'll do
- Act as the first point of technical contact for retail stores and the Support Centre team.
- Diagnose and fix issues involving POS systems, card/payment devices, laptops, printers, and network connectivity.
- Record support requests, assess urgency, escalate where needed, and keep users updated through to resolution.
- Help with device preparation, configuration, and occasional on-site technical assistance.
- Keep support records accurate, add useful content to the IT knowledge base, and assist with project work and system rollouts.
- Work rostered hours that align with retail trading times and take part in an on-call arrangement for after-hours support.
Experience and technical background
Applicants should either hold a Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology, or bring 1 to 2 years of experience in a technical support capacity. A working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, hardware fault-finding, and basic networking is expected. Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be an advantage, although training and support will be provided.

The ideal candidate communicates clearly, can explain technical fixes in simple language, stays organised, and remains composed when several tasks need attention at once. A genuine interest in developing technical skills and building capability in IT is important for this role.
