Role Summary

This opening is part of a materials rotation program that moves through Materials, Planning, and Purchasing functions. Each assignment typically lasts 6 to 12 months.

Inventory Analyst Responsibilities

• Track material movements and transactions for the assigned area.
• Investigate inventory mismatches, determine why they occurred, and work toward fixing the underlying cause.
• Suggest process improvements that reduce future inventory errors.
• Be open to overtime, support material handling tasks, and cover other inventory control duties when needed.
• Help prevent production interruptions connected to the assigned area.
• Carry out routine component cycle counts.
• Complete inventory entries and reports in customer systems when needed.
• Support the setup and rollout of materials management systems that improve inventory control.
• Coordinate with supervisors, support teams, engineering, program management, and other plant functions.

Planner/Buyer I Responsibilities

• Take part in decisions related to MPS loading by sizing material requirements correctly.
• Review, maintain, and run the material requirements plan, while watching the supply pipeline and fixing supply gaps.
• Make sure materials are available to support production based on the Master Production Schedule through MRP execution and timely movement from receiving to production.
• Reduce material liability by clarifying ownership between supplier and customer and providing supporting data to the business unit manager.
• Create purchase orders using the agreed pricing, terms, and conditions, and ensure suppliers follow those agreements.
• Improve order handling and supplier communication.
• Keep master data and planning parameters accurate to control material liability and procurement cost.
• Monitor supplier delivery and quality, and address recurring or critical issues through corrective action methods.
• Support Accounts Payable in resolving invoice mismatches.
• Contribute inputs for commodity and pricing strategy and work closely with buyers, commodity managers, and SCM teams.
• Help reduce freight costs.
• Track and report supplier performance in delivery, quality, and service.

Production Planner Responsibilities

• Build production schedules aligned with the master production schedule.
• Run planned orders in two-week buckets to define build requirements.
• Ensure prep-parts capacity keeps pace with the production plan.
• Reduce changeovers and schedule churn while protecting the integrity of the production board revision.
• Manage clean-to-starts, on-time shipments, EPS upkeep, purge, ECN, deviation handling, and handbook maintenance.
• Meet daily with the master planner and manufacturing teams to review schedules, make adjustments, and improve output for on-time delivery.
• Review weekly clean-to-starts to identify shortages and work with purchasing to secure commitments.
• Partner with manufacturing, purchasing, and inventory control to address long-term material shortage issues.
• Hold readiness meetings for new products and revision changes at least five days before build.
• Ensure shipments are routed correctly and maintain sales orders if assigned.
• Maintain the packout module, EPS, or a similar packout tool.
• Manage deviation, ECN, and purge workflows.
• Understand the full production flow for the product.
• Maintain the role handbook by workcell and stay in continuous coordination with the workcell team.
• Follow safety, health, and security procedures at all times.

Minimum Requirements

A recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree is required. Supply chain or logistics coursework is preferred, and certifications from professional bodies such as APICS or NAPM are an added advantage.
