Role overview
A global security solutions company is hiring a General Manager to oversee operations across the UK and Ireland. This position is a strong match for someone moving up from Head of Operations or for an experienced country manager.
The role needs deep exposure to integrated security systems, along with a solid background in operational or general management. Hands-on knowledge of access control and enterprise systems, from installation through commissioning, is essential.
The successful person will bring substantial experience in managing business performance, building plans for growth, improving regional results, and working across sales, service, operations, and project delivery functions.
Key leadership scope
This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for commercial performance, operational direction, and people leadership across the UK and Ireland. The role acts as the main owner for these markets and is expected to drive profitable growth, deepen customer relationships, lift regional performance, and ensure the business delivers projects and service work effectively.
It will also involve shaping and handling major customer relationships and strategic programmes, especially larger and more complex opportunities, while making sure the organisation has the right structure, local partnerships, and regional support in place.
Core responsibilities
- Take complete ownership of fixing and stabilising performance across the UK and Ireland, including gaps in revenue, margin, delivery, and leadership capability.
- Identify commercial, operational, and organisational issues quickly, then put clear corrective actions in place with defined timelines.
- Lead commercial discipline across the region, with strong control over pricing, margin, spending, and deal approval processes.
- Be directly responsible for regional financial outcomes, including revenue, forecasting accuracy, budgeting, and cash management.
- Act promptly when standards fall short, including addressing poor performance within leadership and teams in a fair but decisive way.
- Reset accountability across Sales, Operations, and functional teams so that outcomes, not just activity, are clearly owned.
- Rebuild trust with important customers and partners, serving as the senior executive lead on major accounts and strategic projects, including opportunities worth more than €1m.
Experience and background needed
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in integrated security systems and strong operational or general management leadership exposure. Experience with business planning, regional growth, performance improvement, and leadership across sales, service, operations, and project delivery is required.
