As part of the Revenue Team, you will partner with customers, sales, product, engineering, and support to deliver a smooth Runpod experience. The focus of this role is to provide technical guidance, resolve customer challenges, and strengthen trust through collaborative problem-solving. The position is designed for someone who combines strong technical ability with clear communication and a customer-first mindset.

This Forward Deployed Engineer role is focused on supporting the growth of Runpod's cloud platform. You will help customers achieve reliable operations, guide onboarding, address technical issues, and work cross-functionally to improve both customer satisfaction and the platform itself. Your work will influence product improvements, operational quality, and customer success.

Key responsibilities

• Join customer sales conversations, explain Runpod's technical offerings, recommend suitable architectures, and build proof-of-concept solutions for prospective high-value customers.
• Investigate and fix complex or high-priority technical problems raised by customers, including issues tied to configuration, speed, functionality, compatibility, and code-related errors.
• Use debugging methods such as code review, scripting, log inspection, and remote access to identify root causes and provide working solutions or temporary workarounds.
• Maintain effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders across engineering, sales, supply, and product management to drive satisfaction and capture useful feedback.
• Support the customer support team with escalated tickets, collaborate with engineering on fixes or workarounds, and work with infrastructure teams on GPU server-related issues.
• Feed customer and support insights back into product development and testing efforts to help shape future improvements.
• Write and update technical documentation, including knowledge base content, FAQs, guides, and manuals, and deliver training sessions, webinars, and demos for customers, partners, and internal teams.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability, along with the capacity to work well in a collaborative environment.
• Familiarity with practical AI use cases such as inference, fine-tuning, LLM-based applications, or agentic systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Must be based in the APAC region, ideally in Malaysia, Singapore, or South Korea.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Preferred technical strengths include Python (Django, Flask, PyTorch), JavaScript (React, Node.js), and Go, with hands-on full-stack development experience.
• Experience with Linux/Ubuntu, Docker, SQL databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, and familiarity with data center components like server hardware and network operations.
• Working knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, and DNS.
• Ability to deploy and manage AI/ML models as services or APIs, including understanding model training, inference, and deployment workflows on Runpod platforms.
• Capability to write and run scripts, queries, and commands, and to read code, logs, errors, and traces.

• Base compensation is listed at USD 100,000 to USD 160,000, converted to local currency and adjusted during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, and location.
