Finance Analyst

Role overview

Stryker is looking for a Finance Analyst to join its FP&A function in Sydney. In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager, FP&A and work closely with the Commercial Manager (FP&A) as well as senior stakeholders such as the Finance Director, President, and the wider leadership team.

The role is central to performance management, planning, and business support. You will help shape stronger decisions, add commercial value, and bring a sound financial viewpoint to discussions and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop productive working relationships across finance, leadership, and important back-office teams.
• Understand stakeholder needs and turn them into practical, commercially relevant insights.
• Question assumptions and provide an independent financial lens to support better outcomes.
• Engage proactively with teams to help influence decisions and improve business results.
• Contribute to weekly reporting routines and help maintain strong data quality.
• Assist with month-end close activities, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgeting.
• Support annual quota setting, award planning, and quota P&L activities.
• Take part in the company-wide Bonus & Commissions process, including accruals, reporting, and analysis.
• Help manage month-end tasks such as Bonus & Commissions cost tracking across business franchises.
• Prepare variance analysis and concise monthly P&L commentary.
• Deliver recurring and ad hoc reports that monitor business performance.
• Maintain tracking for risks and opportunities and ensure data remains accurate.
• Assist with financial modelling and scenario analysis to support decisions.
• Provide timely, accurate insights that help guide business direction.
• Support FP&A and wider finance initiatives that align with business priorities.
• Look for ways to improve processes, reporting, and the quality of data.

Candidate profile

• Degree in Finance or a related field.
• CA or CPA qualification, either completed or currently underway.
• Advanced Excel ability, including modelling, analysis, and handling large data sets.
• Experience using Power BI for reporting and dashboards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and solid organisational skills.
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach with confidence to challenge constructively.
