English Language Specialist

Role overview

This is a remote contract opportunity for an English Generalist working between 10 and 40 hours per week. The role focuses on improving AI-produced English content, maintaining editorial quality, and helping refine language-model training materials.

What you'll do

• Review, rewrite, and polish AI-generated English copy so it is grammatically correct, clear, and stylistically strong.
• Research topics thoroughly to support trustworthy and accurate data for AI training.
• Use AP Style, proofreading, and copyediting standards across a range of text types.
• Create and improve prompts, tone rules, and style guidelines for language models.
• Examine and label text data to strengthen AI understanding and generation.
• Work with cross-functional partners to spot improvement opportunities and protect language quality.

What we're looking for

• Strong command of English with excellent attention to grammar, sentence structure, and overall language quality.
• At least some prior professional background in copyediting, proofreading, or linguistics.
• Ability to understand complex text quickly and adapt writing for different voices and tones.
• Working knowledge of AP Style and other established editorial conventions.
• Well-developed research ability, including the skill to gather, assess, and summarize detailed information.
