About the Organization

Analog Devices is a worldwide semiconductor company that connects the physical and digital worlds through technologies in analog, digital, AI, and software. Its solutions support progress in areas such as climate action, automation, robotics, mobility, healthcare, energy, and data centers. The company reports revenue of more than $11 billion in FY25 and positions itself as an enabler of innovation at the intelligent edge.

Role Overview

The digital library group helps employees across the world make better technical and business decisions by providing access to high-quality online research content and services. This position is a newly created role focused on managing the company’s licensed content program within the library. It works with colleagues in Limerick or Cork and collaborates closely with teams in Wilmington, Massachusetts, and Bangalore.

This role is responsible for leading license discussions, supporting purchases and renewals, maintaining compliance with contract terms, and working with partners across the library, legal, procurement, IT, and business functions. It also supports responsible use of licensed content in newer environments such as AI tools and enterprise research platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle license negotiations, renewals, and ongoing management for electronic resources such as journals, ebooks, technical standards, and market research content.
  • Examine and interpret license terms, including permitted uses related to text and data mining, as well as AI-enabled use cases.
  • Keep complete and accurate records for licenses, suppliers, purchase orders, and renewal dates.
  • Assist with acquisitions processes and broader collection development work.
  • Catalog electronic resources using both copy and original cataloging approaches, following the organization’s internal taxonomy, so content can be discovered quickly and accurately.
  • Work with vendors to resolve access, service, and licensing issues and to assess new products.
  • Look for ways to simplify subscriptions and expand access across the business.
  • Analyze usage metrics to evaluate resources and help decide on renewals or cancellations.
  • Develop documentation, guidance materials, and best-practice recommendations for licensed content use.
  • Support outreach and training through live sessions, online training, internal conferences, video tutorials, newsletters, and surveys.
  • Provide reference and research assistance when needed.
  • Keep up to date with e-resource management, licensing, scholarly communication, and new technologies.
  • Help improve library workflows, systems, services, and planning initiatives.
  • Work on additional projects assigned by the library manager.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant brings strong experience in e-resources, licensing, or collection management, preferably within a corporate or academic library environment, with a STEM background considered an advantage. The role calls for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally. Success in this position also requires confidence working across cross-functional teams in a global setting, along with familiarity with library databases, digital products, and common business software.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience in e-resources, licensing, or collection management in a corporate or academic library.
  • Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or a related discipline.
  • Direct experience negotiating or managing electronic resource licenses and working with vendors, legal teams, and procurement teams.
  • Understanding of licensing topics such as permitted use, perpetual access, text and data mining, and AI-related usage.
  • Strong organizational ability and close attention to detail, with the capacity to manage several priorities at once.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a global environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, standard business software, and library databases/products.
  • Awareness of emerging digital content, research tools, and AI trends.

Additional Information

This role is an experienced-level position. It may require travel up to 10% of the time. The normal shift is first shift/daytime hours. Because of export control requirements for access to technical data, some applicants may need export licensing review by the U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. This review may apply to all applicants except U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and protected individuals as defined by applicable law.
