Role overview
At H&P, people are the company’s greatest asset. The Driller plays a central role in running drilling operations safely, maintaining drilling equipment, producing daily operational reports, applying well control practices, and directing the work crew.
Key responsibilities
- Follow H&P’s core values and safety expectations in day-to-day work.
- Operate the drill rig, related systems, and personnel under your supervision in a safe manner while complying with applicable health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
- Lead, coach, and set expectations for the crew during rig-up, rig-down, routine operations, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Oversee work to ensure the rig crew follows safety requirements and standard operating methods.
- Keep drilling rigs clean, organized, and maintained in proper working condition.
- Prepare and submit drilling operations reports.
- Confirm that safety equipment is functioning correctly and placed where it is needed.
- Supervise equipment repairs and maintenance activities.
- Control rig and system operations from the panel to improve drilling and tripping efficiency, while overseeing rig-floor activity.
- Apply proper well control procedures in line with H&P operating standards.
- Keep assigned Workday training current.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Totco/Pason, and IADC reporting.
- Demonstrated leadership capability.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proven adherence to H&P health, safety, and environmental standards and C.A.R.E. processes, including COACH people-based safety, Compass Cards, LifeBelts, JSAs, hot work, confined space entry, lock-out/tag-out, and dropped-object prevention.
- Ability to stay flexible, adapt quickly, and solve problems effectively.
- Capacity to follow all relevant H&P policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and comply with local, territorial, state, and federal legal obligations.
- Experience supporting safety and security measures for people, property, assets, and IT equipment and software.
- Ability to provide regular updates and work closely with site management.
- Capability to consult with crews to improve both safety and productivity.
- Knowledge of Saudi drilling-related legislation, HSE obligations, reporting requirements, and audit expectations.
- Ability to work effectively in indigenous environments.
Experience required
A minimum of 3 years of rig drilling experience is required.

This opportunity is based in Saudi Arabia and is a full-time, onsite position. The role includes responsibility for safe drilling operations, equipment repair supervision, crew leadership, reporting, and adherence to H&P’s safety culture and local legal requirements.
