Database Administrator (MongoDB)

Role Overview

Beyondsoft Singapore is looking for a Database Administrator with strong hands-on experience in database operations, performance tuning, and security. This onsite role in Singapore focuses on keeping mission-critical databases stable, secure, and efficient, with MongoDB experience considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and support database software and related tools.
• Track database health and fine-tune systems to deliver strong performance, uptime, and dependability.
• Plan and manage backup routines along with disaster recovery arrangements.
• Investigate database problems, identify root causes, and resolve issues.
• Apply data protection controls and maintain security processes.
• Help ensure adherence to data privacy rules and compliance standards.
• Manage access control, privileges, and permissions while reducing security exposure.
• Work with development teams to design and implement database schemas.
• Improve database structure for speed, growth, and scalability.
• Prepare and maintain documentation and database standards.
• Create and manage database users, roles, and access permissions.
• Carry out database upgrades and patching while maintaining compatibility and stability.
• Support replication and clustering setups to maintain high availability.
• Review queries and indexes to improve efficiency.
• Monitor performance indicators and apply tuning measures when needed.
• Detect and fix bottlenecks and resource contention issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, and similar systems.
• Good understanding of data security principles and best practices.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proven experience improving application or product performance through schema changes, logical and physical data organization, partitioning, tuning, and configuration.
• Experience building and maintaining failover solutions such as clustering, mirroring, or Availability Groups, including disaster recovery testing for critical databases.
• MongoDB administration and optimization experience is preferred.
• Strong experience in SSRS report development and SSIS/ETL work.
• Professional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate are advantageous.
