About the company
Coins.ph is a well-known crypto brand in the Philippines, trusted by more than 18 million users. Its mobile app lets people buy and sell multiple cryptocurrencies while also accessing a broader set of financial services.
The company operates under full regulation from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and became the first crypto-focused company in Asia to receive both Virtual Currency and Electronic Money Issuer licenses from a central bank.
Role overview
This leadership role is focused on turning data into business direction across cross-border payments. You will guide analytics, platform planning, team delivery, and business partnering to strengthen decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and uncover growth opportunities.
Key responsibilities
Lead business analysis across the full cross-border payment lifecycle, including transaction processing, clearing, FX settlement, risk management, revenue, and capital movement. Build consistent analysis frameworks and KPI systems, then translate findings into management-ready reviews, growth recommendations, and risk insights.
Own the planning and rollout of the data warehouse, data middle platform, and BI visualization stack. Work with business and technology stakeholders to establish strong data governance, standard data definitions, layered architecture, and access controls while reducing data fragmentation and building reusable business-centric data assets.
Direct the BI and Data Engineering teams end to end. Set team processes, divide work across analysis, BI development, engineering, and platform operations, and strengthen team capability while ensuring timely delivery of data initiatives and platform projects.
Partner with business, risk, operations, finance, and product teams to support key data needs. Put in place routines for daily tracking, early alerts, and recurring business reviews so that the company can spot issues faster, improve performance, and increase revenue through data-backed actions.
Requirements
You should have at least 8 years of experience in data analysis and data management, ideally in cross-border payments or fintech. A strong grasp of cross-border business processes such as collection and payout, clearing and settlement, overseas compliance, and risk control is important. Experience managing a payment-industry data team is a strong advantage.
The role calls for solid commercial thinking and the ability to frame data work around business needs. You should be able to break down business problems independently, build analysis structures from scratch, and recommend practical improvements based on special studies and findings.
You need a strong understanding of data platform architecture, data warehousing, and data middle-platform concepts, along with end-to-end governance practices. This position does not require hands-on coding, but you must be able to coordinate technical teams and drive platform planning and delivery.
At least 2 years of experience leading data teams is required, with a history of managing BI and Data Engineering functions. You should be good at setting priorities, improving processes, developing people, and working across departments under pressure.
Strong SQL skills, familiarity with data analysis tools, and experience using BI visualization tools are required. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Data Analysis, or a related field is preferred.
Why this role may appeal to you
You will work across functions to deliver improvements that can directly affect customer experience.
The company is growing quickly and has plans to expand beyond APAC, which may create opportunities for career progression.
The culture encourages data-backed ideas and welcomes suggestions that can lead to meaningful change.
