About the role
The Data Center team is responsible for designing and running highly advanced electrical, mechanical, and HVAC infrastructure. In this role, you will help keep data center facilities operating smoothly by monitoring physical conditions and supporting critical systems such as cooling, power supply, generators, UPS units, electrical distribution, and control and monitoring systems. You will also inspect, maintain, and repair facility systems, including piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical components.
You will contribute to safer and more efficient operations by looking for ways to lower operating costs, improve overall data center efficiency, and uphold environmental and safety requirements. During emergencies or unusual operating conditions, you will help manage performance issues and outages so recovery time is kept as short as possible. This role sits within the Technical Infrastructure organization, which supports the systems that keep products and services available and reliable.
Minimum qualifications

- At least 5 years of experience maintaining electrical distribution systems, or working in construction, technical, or related environments.
- At least 5 years of electrical experience in operations, maintenance, testing, or commissioning within facilities such as data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical plants, semiconductor sites, refineries, power plants, or other industrial settings.
- Comfort working outside standard business hours, including shift-based or rotating schedules.
Preferred qualifications
- Working knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting methods using hand tools, digital meters, or calibration and diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, and ATS/STS or PDU/PMM units.
- Ability to perform material-handling work, including lifting, carrying, or moving equipment weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg), and using safety gear such as limited-weight-bearing platforms, ladders, step stools, and personal protective equipment like safety harnesses in line with safety and ergonomic guidance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and carry out operating procedures, respond to service failures or work requests, and provide technical and operational support where needed.
- Work with vendors for repairs and replacements, and assist with project execution, including site acceptance tests, factory acceptance tests, and defect inspections.
- Promote better water usage effectiveness, power usage effectiveness, operational efficiency, and reduced environmental impact on site.
- Build a strong understanding of infrastructure design and operating sequences, and help train and share knowledge with team members.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment in a data center setting.
