Role Overview

The organization is hiring a Data Analyst to join the Data Warehouse and BI team. This position is centered on expanding a modern data platform, strengthening report development, broadening data models, and supporting the reliability of an analytics environment already used for company-wide reporting. The role is hands-on and involves working with stakeholders across operations, finance, dispatch, inventory, vendor management, and other functions.

A major part of the job is making sense of inconsistent source systems, including multiple ERPs with different structures, naming conventions, and business rules. The analyst will help transform fragmented data into a clean, standardized, and comparable view so leadership and operational teams can make sound decisions from trustworthy reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and alerts supporting finance, operations, inventory, dispatch, and vendor management.
  • Use advanced SQL in Snowflake to explore data, build datasets, and answer business questions efficiently.
  • Develop and improve dbt models that normalize and unify data from multiple ERP systems into a common structure.
  • Prepare data in a scalable and usable format that supports both human users and automated agents.
  • Resolve differences in source definitions such as chart of accounts, item masters, customer and vendor records, and transaction types to create an apples-to-apples business view.
  • Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand operational needs, and convert questions into dependable reporting solutions.
  • Identify anomalies, insights, and improvement opportunities within datasets and communicate them proactively.
  • Track and troubleshoot Fivetran connectors, dbt executions, and Power BI refreshes, including data quality and pipeline issues.
  • Handle ad-hoc analytics requests that support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Document models, definitions, and reporting logic so information remains accessible and shared across the team.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of professional experience as a data analyst, analytics engineer, or BI developer.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge, including CTEs, window functions, indexing, stored procedures, tuning, and debugging complex joins on large datasets.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and how to design solutions that scale.
  • Very strong Power BI expertise, including DAX, data modeling, calculation groups, alerting, operational use cases with Power Apps integration, performance tuning, row-level security, and report design best practices.
  • Exposure to cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or OneLake and modern ELT workflows.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with business partners.
  • Comfort working remotely, staying self-directed, and moving work forward with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Experience using AI tools to speed up analytics tasks such as model building, DAX writing, documentation, code review, and stakeholder communication.

Compensation and Benefits

  • 10 paid holidays each year.
  • Flexible time off.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • HSA and FSA options.
  • Disability coverage and occupational accident insurance.
  • Company-paid life insurance.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Access to a strong paid training program designed to support long-term career growth.

Additional Information

This is a remote full-time position based in Dallas, Texas. The role is best suited to someone who enjoys complex data reconciliation, stakeholder collaboration, and building dependable analytics products from messy and varied source systems.
