Role Overview
This role is for a Customer Service Associate at a HELE convenience store in Honolulu, where the focus is on fast, friendly service, a clean store, and a positive shopping experience. The company promotes a culture built on teamwork, integrity, creativity, respect, and community-minded service.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $17.15 to $21.15. A $3.00 shift differential may apply if eligible.
Key Duties
- Deliver quick, polite assistance to customers and support fuel-pump service when needed.
- Process purchases accurately on the point-of-sale system and follow proper cash-handling practices for cash and other payment methods.
- Handle tender types such as coupons and credit cards with care and accuracy.
- Follow company rules, store procedures, and all safety and environmental requirements.
- Receive deliveries, stock shelves, and keep merchandise organized.
- Help maintain correct inventory levels and support shift audits.
- Take part in safety programs, required training, and mandatory work-related meetings.
- Carry out cleaning tasks to keep the store and outdoor areas neat, as well as basic equipment upkeep.
- Notice equipment issues and report them when required.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and remain flexible for varying schedules and other assigned tasks.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or walk through an entire shift.
- Capability to read items and numbers clearly enough to monitor inventory, purchases, and pump activity; corrected vision to 20/40 is acceptable.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to follow safety procedures, including responding to alarms and contacting emergency services when necessary.
- Frequent reaching, gripping, wrist movement, and fine finger use for stocking, cash handling, operating pumps, and general housekeeping.
- Frequent squatting and kneeling to access and replenish items.
- Ability to push or pull up to 20 pounds using a hand truck.
- Frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb a step ladder to stock, retrieve items, or place and remove signs.
Working Conditions
The job may involve exposure to gas fumes, solvents, and occasional noise.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States for any employer without needing visa sponsorship or a visa transfer.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Prior experience in retail sales and cash handling is preferred.
- Basic math skills are required.
- Strong spoken and written English skills are expected, including telephone communication ability.
- Must be able to work scheduled shifts, arrive on time, and adapt to varying schedules.
- Must be comfortable using the equipment, tools, and materials needed for the job.
- Must be able to perform the essential duties in the stated work conditions.
