Cost Controller

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Cost Controller to support a major construction business delivering large building and infrastructure works across Saudi Arabia. This position is based in Riyadh, Jeddah, or Dammam and offers a total monthly package of SAR 12,000, which includes basic pay and fixed allowances.

The role is intended for professionals whose background has been centred on project cost control. You will work closely with project teams to manage budgets, track costs, prepare forecasts, and keep project finances aligned with commercial objectives throughout delivery.

Important: This opening is not for Estimation, Quantity Surveying, or Tendering professionals. Candidates whose core experience is mainly in Estimation, Quantity Surveying, or Commercial Management will not be shortlisted.

Responsibilities

• Track and manage project expenditure from project launch through final completion.
• Build and update project budgets, cost summaries, and financial projections.
• Compare actual spending with approved budget figures and flag variances.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cost updates for project leadership and senior management.
• Develop Cost-to-Complete (CTC), Estimate at Completion (EAC), and cash flow forecasts.
• Review cost trends and advise on corrective actions when needed.
• Assist project teams with budget planning and financial decisions.
• Maintain cost control tools, coding structures, and financial reporting workflows.
• Review change orders and evaluate their financial effect on project budgets.
• Work with Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Project Management teams to ensure accurate reporting.
• Follow company cost control procedures and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of hands-on Cost Controller experience in construction projects.
• Most of your career should have been devoted to cost control rather than estimation, quantity surveying, or tendering.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience preparing budget reports, cost forecasts, CTC, EAC, cash flow forecasts, variance analysis, and monthly cost reports.
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Practical experience with project controls and ERP tools such as Primavera P6, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
• Preferred exposure to large building, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects.
• Preferred background with EPC or main contractor organisations.
• Preferred experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
• Good grasp of project controls and commercial reporting practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

The ideal candidate will have a strong record of controlling project budgets, producing reliable financial reports, supporting delivery teams, and ensuring projects stay within approved financial limits from start to finish.

Salary

The total package is SAR 12,000 per month, inclusive of basic salary and fixed allowances.
