Role Overview
We are looking for a CAD Mechanical Engineer with strong hands-on experience in SolidWorks Plastics and DFMEA. This position is focused on mechanical design work for medical devices or similarly demanding industries, with an emphasis on plastics design, analysis, and documentation.
Experience
Candidates should bring at least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within the medical devices sector or another comparable industry.
Technical Requirements
- Sound understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Working knowledge of design for manufacturing and design for assembly principles.
- Capability in designing plastic molded parts and performing mold flow analysis.
- Familiarity with common manufacturing processes.
- Strong command of CAD software, with SolidWorks preferred.
- Good grasp of engineering fundamentals and design calculations.
- Exposure to PLM and PDM systems.
- Confident communication and clear documentation abilities.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Key Focus Areas
The role requires the ability to develop practical product designs, evaluate manufacturability, and support engineering decisions with solid calculations and documentation.
