Assistant Director

Role Overview

Goodstart Rockingham is looking for an Assistant Director to join its leadership team in Rockingham, Western Australia. This full-time position is based at 41 Council Ave, Rockingham WA 6168, and involves 38 hours per week. The role offers pay in the range of $42.38 to $43.60 per hour, depending on qualification and experience, plus superannuation and other benefits.

What the Role Involves

In this position, you will work closely with the Centre Director to strengthen centre operations, guide the team, and help create a positive and high-performing early learning environment. The role suits an experienced early learning professional who wants to grow leadership capability while contributing to the success of a not-for-profit organisation.

You will also build strong relationships with families and engage with the local community to support the centre’s broader goals.

Key Duties

• Assist the Centre Director in leading the team to deliver quality early learning and care.
• Coach and develop team members to strengthen their capability.
• Take charge of the centre’s day-to-day management when the Centre Director is unavailable.
• Apply the Goodstart Practice Guide in your work.

Requirements

• A Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood, or an equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification, is required.
• You must hold a current Working with Children Check for Western Australia.
• A current First Aid qualification is also required.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Director, a centre leader, or in a similar leadership role is preferred.
