Role summary
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position focuses on providing accounting and financial reporting support to clients in Ireland, the UK, and Europe. The role suits someone with strong technical accounting knowledge who is comfortable handling work for multiple clients, systems, and business sectors. The successful candidate will maintain precise financial records and prepare accounts up to review stage.
Key responsibilities
- Handle accounts payable activity for several client accounts.
- Process sales orders and coordinate with customers and warehouse staff to ensure fulfilment and resolve any issues.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage supplier payments across a portfolio of clients.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Post journals and make necessary accounting adjustments.
- Keep the general ledger accurate and up to date.
- Support the preparation of management accounts when needed.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review them.
- Work across a range of accounting software platforms.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Coordinate with the Accounting Manager and wider team on client deliverables.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while meeting deadlines for multiple clients.
- Carry out other ad hoc tasks as required.

The ideal person will be a detail-focused and experienced Accounting Technician who performs well in a busy environment and enjoys supporting a variety of businesses. They should be confident using different accounting systems, technically strong, and committed to producing reliable financial information for review.
Essential requirements
- Qualified Accounting Technician with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven capability in accounts payable, sales order processing, bank reconciliations, VAT return preparation, and journal postings.
- Experience preparing accounts to review stage.
- Hands-on experience with multiple accounting software packages.
- Strong organisational ability and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage work for several clients at the same time.
- Good communication skills.
Desirable experience
- Background in an accounting practice or outsourced accounting setting.
- Experience dealing with international clients.
Working arrangement
This is a hybrid role based in the Limerick office. The role is set within a collaborative team environment at a growing outsourced accounting firm, with a minimum of three days per week in the office and two days worked remotely.
