Role Overview

Webdev (Pvt) Ltd, a multi-award-winning and market-leading company in Zimbabwe, operates in web hosting, online marketing, e-commerce, online payments, and web development. The business is looking for a well-organised, client-focused Web/Digital Project Manager to strengthen its Web Development team in Harare.

This position is central to the successful execution of web and digital projects from the first briefing stage through delivery, launch, and final handover. You will act as the main liaison between clients and internal technical teams, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within agreed scope, and to a high standard.

The role calls for someone who combines solid project management ability with strong stakeholder handling, commercial judgement, and the confidence to navigate complex client relationships while keeping delivery disciplined and well controlled.

Key Responsibilities

Project delivery and coordination

  • Oversee several web and digital projects at the same time from start-up through to completion.
  • Create and keep up-to-date plans, delivery timelines, milestones, and schedules.
  • Track progress, spot risks early, and remove obstacles before they affect delivery.
  • Work closely with developers, designers, QA staff, hosting teams, and other involved parties to keep projects moving smoothly.

Client and stakeholder management

  • Act as the main contact for clients while projects are active.
  • Run kick-off sessions, review meetings, demos, and end-of-project wrap-ups.
  • Keep clients informed through clear, structured, and timely communication.
  • Develop strong working relationships with both external clients and internal teams.

Scope and change control

  • Make sure project scope is properly defined and tightly managed.
  • Handle formal change requests and assess how requested changes affect scope.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate impacts on budget, time, and resources when new requirements arise.
  • Help safeguard profitability by applying sound scope governance.

Communication and governance

  • Keep accurate records of project documents, approvals, and decisions.
  • Ensure the right stakeholders sign off on key project approvals.
  • Support open and transparent communication across everyone involved in the project.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and updates for management.

Quality assurance and launch support

  • Coordinate testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and launch-related activities.
  • Confirm that all deliverables meet the required quality expectations.
  • Manage closure activities, handovers, and lessons learned reviews at the end of each project.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong planning, organising, and project management capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to run multiple projects at once.
  • Practical experience handling scope, schedules, risks, and change requests.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the factors that influence project profitability.
  • Confidence to handle difficult discussions in a professional and constructive way.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability.
  • Comfort working with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Background in web, software, digital, IT, or technical delivery projects is preferred.
  • Experience working alongside developers, designers, QA testers, and similar technical roles is preferred.
  • Experience in client-facing project delivery is preferred.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, ClickUp, Monday.com, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Exposure to Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches is preferred.
  • Experience in a digital agency, software house, web development company, or IT services environment is preferred.
  • A degree or diploma in Project Management, Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Operations Management, Digital Media, or a related area.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, or Scrum Master are an added advantage.
  • Relevant hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is mature, proactive, and focused on finding practical solutions. You should be able to bring structure, visibility, and accountability to project delivery, while confidently dealing with clients, balancing priorities, and operating effectively in a busy technical setting.

Most importantly, you should take ownership, communicate clearly, follow through on commitments, and help create an excellent client experience while protecting business goals.
