Overview
Gartner is hiring a Variable Compensation Associate to join its VC Care team in Riyadh. This role supports the administration of global compensation plans for Sales, Consulting, Conference, and Specialist teams. The position is suited to someone who enjoys detailed analysis, handling associate inquiries, and working with compensation data in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Role summary
In this position, you will help manage commission-related processes, respond to compensation questions and disputes, support payment checks, and prepare reports and analysis on bookings, revenue, commission earnings, and sales award performance. The work involves frequent use of Excel, SQL, and commission systems, along with clear communication and strong problem-solving.
Key duties
- Carry out recurring manual activities for processes that are not fully automated, using Excel, SQL, and SaaS commission tools regularly.
- Update and maintain the commission system through accurate data entry, validation, and quality checks for imports and exports.
- Respond to commission-eligible associates through email, chat, and other channels regarding commission, compensation, quota, earnings, and related concerns.
- Explain commission calculations, payment changes, and compensation details to Sales Associates.
- Research issues in depth, identify the cause of anomalies, and recommend practical resolutions.
- Check monthly commission payouts, reconcile them against source systems, and confirm payment accuracy.
- Handle adjustment requests in line with documented procedures.
- Create ad hoc sales reports and analysis for leaders and business partners.
- Provide formal and on-demand training to associates eligible for commission.
- Work closely with finance, sales, and operations teams to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
- Support testing of system improvements and enhancements.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts, own assigned work, and meet team SLAs, targets, and goals.
- Take on additional projects as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant experience, or equivalent professional development, college coursework, or specialized certification.
- Solid Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, filtering, and sorting, plus strong data analysis ability.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, including simple query writing; using prepared templates is an added advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and the ability to manage a high inquiry volume.
- Good problem-solving ability and curiosity to work through complex questions using available resources.
- Comfort working with large datasets from multiple sources.
- Ability to understand key elements of compensation plans.
- Adaptability to ambiguity, shifting priorities, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to take on new work.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
