Truck Driver

Overview

SAFEX TRANSPORT is hiring a truck driver to carry goods and materials from the Rocky View County, Alberta location. This is a full-time, on-site role based at the physical workplace, with no remote option.

Language

English is required for this position.

Education

A secondary school graduation certificate is required.

Experience

Prior experience is not mandatory; having experience is considered an asset.

Work Setting

The role is based in a trucking company environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange any special permits and supporting paperwork needed for international cargo runs.
• Drive straight trucks or articulated trucks to move goods and materials safely.
• Check the vehicle’s condition, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage units, and other equipment.
• Carry out inspections before departure, during the trip, and after completion, while monitoring the overall condition of the vehicle.
• Handle basic preventive maintenance tasks.
• Pass information to central dispatch as needed.
• Maintain records of cargo details, driving hours, distance covered, and fuel usage.
• Secure cargo properly with tarping and by maintaining safety and security standards.
• Transport and manage dangerous goods in compliance with requirements.

Credentials

The position requires an AZ class licence, a Class 1/1F/A licence for semi-trailer trucks, and a Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
