About Ability Action Australia
Ability Action Australia is a nationwide therapy provider working with NDIS participants from ages 0 to 65. The organisation focuses on helping people build independence, confidence, progress and better day-to-day outcomes. Its aim is to be recognised as a leading allied health provider in Australia.
The team describes its environment as supportive, energetic and encouraging, with structured supervision, flexibility and room to grow. The 12-month graduate pathway is designed to help new speech pathologists develop into confident professionals through a mix of clinical learning, mentoring and practical experience.
Role Overview
This opportunity is for a soon-to-graduate Speech Pathologist who wants to start their career in a setting that offers guidance, collaboration and genuine professional development. The program is designed to support early-career clinicians as they build their skills, learn from experienced practitioners and make a meaningful difference in the community.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will support participants across community, school and clinic settings. You will carry out assessments, prepare reports and deliver therapy support tailored to participant goals. You will also work closely with participants and their carers to advocate for needs and help them achieve meaningful outcomes.
Graduate Program Benefits
The graduate program is built to provide much more than clinical exposure. It includes opportunities to build business skills, people skills and the less tangible capabilities that help turn a good clinician into a great one. You will be challenged, supported through mistakes and growth, and encouraged to develop strong professional relationships while contributing to positive change in people’s lives.
Compensation and Support
- Guaranteed annual salary of $86,400 including superannuation
- Reimbursement for travel
- $1,500 allowance for external continuing professional development
- Performance incentives with the opportunity to earn more and contribute to the community
- Laptop, smartphone and clinical toolkit provided
- Professional indemnity insurance included
- Salary packaging and novated leasing options
- Employee benefits such as travel discounts, gym savings and similar perks
- Flexible work arrangements across office/clinic, home or a preferred café
- Weekly one-to-one supervision, monthly workshops, mentoring and a dedicated buddy
Who Should Apply
Applicants should be nearing graduation as a Speech Pathologist and feel excited to learn in a supportive multidisciplinary team. The role suits someone who is compassionate, curious, motivated to grow and passionate about helping people communicate and connect. Candidates must be SPA-registered or eligible to register on graduation, and they must hold a driver’s licence with access to their own vehicle.
Equal Opportunity and Accessibility
Ability Action Australia welcomes a diverse workforce and identifies as an equal opportunity employer. The organisation encourages applications from people with disability, including those with mental health conditions, as well as people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, the LGBTQI community, veterans, carers and Indigenous Australians.
