Role Overview

Tao Group Hospitality is seeking a practical, camera-ready Social Media Content Creator to serve as the main visual storyteller for a selected group of New York restaurant and rooftop venues. In this position, you will create, edit, and publish original photo and video content that showcases the food, the atmosphere, and the guest experience across the portfolio. This role is fully hands-on, with work spanning production, editing, and publishing.

Applicants should include a resume plus a portfolio link, or a social profile such as Instagram or TikTok that shows relevant work in context. Submissions without a portfolio will not be reviewed.

What You’ll Do

• Create original on-location photo and video content across the assigned venue portfolio, including dishes, cocktails, plating details, interior atmosphere, skyline views, and candid guest moments.
• Edit short-form videos such as Reels and TikToks, along with still images, so they are optimized for Instagram and TikTok and reflect a polished food and lifestyle aesthetic.
• Build and keep an active content calendar in partnership with the Hotel Marketing Team, while preserving each venue’s unique visual identity and posting rhythm.
• Adjust content style and creative direction to suit the distinct personality of each venue.
• Track platform trends, audio patterns, and emerging content formats, then translate them into work that feels native to each location.
• Document seasonal menus, chef appearances, cocktail features, and special events in real time, including weekend brunch service and rooftop activations.
• Review content performance across venues and communicate findings to the team, using results to improve future creative decisions.
• Plan shoot timing with venue operations so content is captured smoothly without disrupting guests.
• Support selected nightlife and entertainment activations within the broader Tao Group portfolio when needed.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Experience and Background

The ideal candidate brings 2 to 4 years of practical social media content creation experience, preferably supported by a strong portfolio in food, dining, or lifestyle content. You should be comfortable shooting both stills and video, using a DSLR or mirrorless camera as well as an iPhone in natural and ambient restaurant lighting.

You should also be proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or CapCut for video editing, with Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop for photo editing. A strong working knowledge of Instagram and TikTok is important, including an understanding of what captures attention, encourages saves, and keeps pacing effective. A refined visual eye, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple venues independently are essential.

Work Style and Preferences

• Genuine enthusiasm for food, dining culture, and the New York restaurant scene.
• Availability to work weekends and some evenings, particularly during busy service periods and seasonal events.
• Formal study in photography, videography, or a related creative field is preferred.
• Experience shooting in low-light spaces or louder event environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools and analytics platforms is preferred.
• Experience handling content for several different brand identities at once is preferred.
• Understanding of luxury hospitality presentation, with the ability to balance aspirational imagery and approachability, is preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows Microsoft Office, POS systems, and Oracle knowledge is preferred.

• The role may involve work in a small to medium office setting, as well as casino, nightclub, bar, lounge, and restaurant environments.
• Local travel within the United States may account for 5% to 25% of the job.
• You may work in conditions with varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke, depending on guest volume.
• Extended hours, irregular shifts, evening shifts, weekend shifts, and holiday work may be required.
• You are expected to maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance in line with company standards.
• The role requires effective teamwork and respectful interaction with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers.
