Overview
The Law Firm of Joseph H. Low IV is looking for a short-form video editor who can do more than trim footage — someone who can turn long recordings into compelling stories. The role involves working with extensive video material from seminars, speaking events, and similar sources, then shaping that content into engaging clips for Reels, TikTok, Shorts, and promotional use.
What You’ll Do
- Identify the most impactful moments in long-form footage and turn them into short clips with a clear setup, middle, and payoff.
- Create teasers, short edits, and social videos that capture attention quickly and keep viewers watching.
- Increase retention through strong hooks, captions, on-screen text, pacing, and motion elements.
- Group related clips into coherent series so they feel connected rather than random.
- Prepare final edits in the correct format and dimensions for each platform.
- Maintain a consistent output and quick turnaround so social channels stay active.
What Matters Most
- A portfolio of reels or short-form videos you personally edited, preferably with examples that performed well.
- The ability to explain why certain clips succeeded and what made them effective.
- Strong storytelling instincts and a sharp sense for finding the angle that makes a moment interesting.
- A disciplined workflow, reliable deadline management, and clear, proactive communication.
Additional Information
This is a remote, 1099 contractor role. Compensation is hourly and negotiable based on skill level and experience. The position may be part-time or full-time. The employer is looking for a candidate who understands the need for discretion and sound judgment when creating content for a law firm brand.
