Role overview

This opportunity is for a permanent Maintenance Technician based in Mount Vernon, Alabama. The position is hands-on and focused on keeping production equipment running reliably, supporting quality output, efficiency, and safe operations across the manufacturing floor.

What you'll do

• Inspect machines and equipment regularly to spot early signs of wear or malfunction.
• Carry out preventive upkeep such as cleaning, servicing, and routine maintenance checks.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical or electrical faults quickly and effectively.
• Choose and use the right tools and equipment for each maintenance task while maintaining safe working practices.
• Work with team members to improve production flow and refine manufacturing methods.
• Follow all safety rules and compliance requirements during maintenance work.
• Keep accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Provide input on equipment installation, changes, and upgrades.
• Take part in training and development to stay current with industry practices and technical advancements.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing environment, along with a solid grasp of mechanical and electrical systems. Strong troubleshooting ability, familiarity with machines and preventive maintenance, and a safety-first mindset are important. The role also calls for someone who can work independently as well as collaboratively, communicate clearly, and pay close attention to detail.

Education and credentials

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Training from a vocational school or a BSc/BA in business administration or facility management would be a plus. Professional certification from a relevant body is also advantageous.
