About the Role
This position is for a senior engineer in the tool room, focused on maintaining, repairing, and improving injection molds used in automotive plastic component manufacturing. The role also involves supporting mold design changes, trial runs, and process improvements to reduce downtime and strengthen overall tool performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out development, upkeep, and repair work for injection molds.
- Operate and coordinate with CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, grinding equipment, EDM, and VMC setups as needed.
- Review tool drawings and support mold design modifications based on production needs.
- Participate in mold trials, technical analysis, and corrective actions to improve reliability.
- Work on reducing tool downtime through better maintenance planning and tool history tracking.
- Maintain inventory and usage records for tool spares.
- Support preventive maintenance schedules in coordination with the production team.
- Assist with mold setup and process optimization activities.
- Prepare documentation and support audit-related requirements.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of injection mold construction and working principles.
- Hands-on knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Experience in automotive plastic molding tools is preferred.
- Ability to work in shift-based schedules.
- Comfortable using metrology instruments and measuring equipment.
- Background from CIPET, NTTF, or GTTC is preferred.

Compensation
The offered salary range is INR 3,50,000 to INR 6,00,000 per year.
