Opportunity
This is a chance to take a senior technical and leadership role in structural engineering, with a focus on industrial and water utility work. The position centers on liquid-retaining structures and offers the opportunity to contribute to a strong pipeline of projects across New Zealand.
You will be part of an established, varied structural engineering team working across the local region, New Zealand, the Pacific, and Australasia. The role brings varied day-to-day challenges and a mix of design leadership, client engagement, and team development.
What you will do
- Lead structural design for industrial and water utility projects.
- Provide technical guidance and project leadership while working in a team-oriented environment.
- Take ownership of project delivery, including proposal preparation and client relationship management.
- Develop strong client partnerships by understanding their business needs and aligning services with expectations.
- Support the growth, capability, and career development of structural engineering colleagues.
- Promote innovation and help improve the quality of technical outcomes.
About you
You are a Chartered Structural Engineer with a solid background in delivering industrial or water-sector projects, particularly those involving liquid-retaining structures. You bring leadership skills, enjoy sharing knowledge, and are motivated to help others grow.
Useful experience includes work on water reservoirs, tanks, and water or wastewater treatment plants.
Additional strengths that would be valuable include design of concrete liquid-retaining structures to NZS3106, assessment and design of steel tanks to NZSEE Seismic Design of Storage Tanks, and experience with crack control in concrete structures such as CIRIA C766.
