Kraft Heinz is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join their Quality team in Hastings, New Zealand. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory and provide support to the Laboratory Manager in their absence.
• Maintain laboratory quality standards, including ISO 17025 and RLP criteria, while managing complex and urgent laboratory issues.
• Assist with the training and supervision of other Lab Technicians.
• Monitor equipment calibrations, identify and source alternative equipment when necessary, and ensure the high quality of laboratory results.
• Verify that all laboratory equipment, reagents, and media are calibrated and validated according to the HW Laboratory manual.

About You

• Possess a tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Have significant and proven experience working in a laboratory environment within the manufacturing sector.
• Experience in people leadership is advantageous, though not essential.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) databases is highly desirable.
• Exhibit excellent people leadership capabilities, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
