Descrição da vaga
Role overview
We are looking for a QA Engineer to help ensure that our web applications remain dependable, secure, and easy to use for both patients and healthcare professionals. The role combines thorough manual testing with practical, small-scale automation support so the engineering team can release with greater confidence.
This position is centered on hands-on manual quality assurance. Automation is expected to be light and targeted, supporting the testing process where it adds value rather than involving the creation of large automation frameworks from the ground up.
This role is based in Berlin and is expected to be performed on-site.
What you will do
- Build, plan, and run manual test cases for mobile applications, with special attention to customer-facing journeys, unusual scenarios, and healthcare-related workflows.
- Carry out exploratory, regression, smoke, and acceptance testing for new features and bug fixes.
- Support lightweight automation by maintaining structured test scenarios, CI-oriented test definitions, and API testing flows such as YAML-based configurations, Playwright or Cypress scenarios, and BDD-style test cases.
- Work closely with product managers and developers to clarify requirements, refine acceptance criteria, and identify problems early in the development cycle.
- Create precise, repeatable bug reports and collaborate with the team until issues are resolved.
- Check data movement and API responses against expected outcomes, including validation through REST APIs and databases.
- Use simple SQL queries to confirm that application data is correct.
- Help strengthen QA workflows, improve test documentation, and raise release confidence over time.
What we are looking for
You should be fluent in English, both written and spoken, and based in Berlin. We are seeking someone with at least 3 years of experience in QA or software testing, preferably in web applications.
The right candidate will have strong manual testing capabilities, including test design, exploratory testing, regression testing, and disciplined bug reporting. Comfort with structured configuration files and test definitions, such as YAML, is important, as is a solid grasp of how modern web applications work end to end across frontend, backend, APIs, and databases.
You should also have hands-on experience testing REST APIs with tools such as Postman or Insomnia, familiarity with bug tracking and test management systems like Jira, Linear, TestRail, or Xray, and a tech-friendly mindset. While you do not need to be a full-time developer, you should be comfortable working in a developer-oriented environment, including Git, the terminal, logs, code, and debugging tools.
Nice to have
- Experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Exposure to BDD tools like Cucumber or Gherkin.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
- Experience in healthcare, medtech, or another regulated industry.
- Awareness of security and data privacy topics such as GDPR, HIPAA, or similar frameworks.
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and containerized environments, including AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
