Project Manager - Technology

About the Role

Christchurch Airport is working toward an ambitious future as a world-class name in sustainable aviation and technology. The Digital and Technology team is looking for a practical and seasoned Project Manager who can lead technology initiatives that create real value for the organisation and its customers.

This position is accountable for delivering technology projects from start to finish, ensuring they stay aligned with the airport’s strategic goals. You will partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, and external providers to keep work well structured, closely managed, and successfully delivered. The role calls for a strong delivery mindset, collaboration, and a focus on outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of technology project delivery with a grounded, customer-first approach that supports business objectives
• Create and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and milestone tracking
• Monitor risks and problems early and manage them through to resolution so delivery stays on track
• Keep stakeholders informed through regular, clear communication and escalate matters when needed
• Coordinate with suppliers and implementation partners to support delivery activities
• Work within established delivery methods, governance requirements, and reporting expectations
• Help improve the team’s project delivery methods, tools, and overall practice
• Assist with prioritising work, planning resources, and preparing delivery updates
• Promote continuous improvement across project delivery processes

About You

You are an experienced technology project professional who enjoys connecting people, handling complexity, and achieving results. You are confident working across technical and business settings and can explain project details in a way that supports business understanding and decision-making.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated experience managing technology or IT projects end to end
• Experience working with several stakeholders and external vendors on the same project
• Strong capability in planning, risk control, and stakeholder engagement
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong relationship-building ability
• Comfort working in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly
• Broad working knowledge of IT environments, including infrastructure, applications, and enterprise platforms
• Relevant project management qualifications or training
