Role overview
Forbes Bros. Ltd. is hiring a full-time, permanent Project Coordinator to join its team in Surrey, British Columbia. This role sits within the Project Management Organization, a cross-border group that works together to support the business strategically.
Reporting to the Project Director and partnering closely with Project Leadership and Construction Management, the coordinator will keep project documentation organized, help manage schedules and budgets, and support the timely completion of project milestones. The role also involves planning meetings, coordinating stakeholder communication, and making sure administration supports field operations effectively. A solid background in civil construction is essential.

Key duties
- Help Project Managers drive project delivery from bid stage through closeout
- Track budgets, costs, forecasts, and progress updates
- Assist with procurement, subcontracting, and contract administration
- Use Viewpoint for day-to-day cost tracking and reporting
- Support change management activities, including pricing, tracking, and approvals
- Prepare field review reports, site instructions, and clarification documents
- Check IFC drawings and record drawings for completeness and accuracy
- Assist with closeout packages and final compliance checks
- Create reporting tools and dashboards for internal teams and clients
- Coordinate with field crews to keep site work aligned with project plans
- Attend project and construction meetings as needed
- Share updates on project status, risks, and issues with leadership
- Support health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements
- Assist with estimating and proposal preparation when required
- Handle time entry, admin tracking, and data management tasks
- Contribute ideas that improve processes and operational efficiency
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant has at least 2 years of experience as a Project Coordinator in civil construction. They should understand construction workflows such as RFIs, subcontracts, change orders, and closeout procedures.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, are needed. Experience with Viewpoint is considered an advantage. The right candidate should be detail-oriented, communicate well, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-moving environment.
Additional requirements
- Post-secondary training in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required
