Role overview
Mater Private Cork is looking to add a Staff Grade Physiotherapist to its expanding team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role sits within a multidisciplinary hospital environment and contributes to the ongoing development of the physiotherapy service.
The successful applicant will provide physiotherapy support across orthopaedics (inpatient), orthopaedic and musculoskeletal outpatients, respiratory care for both surgical and medical patients, and services for older adults.
Key duties
- Apply strong clinical understanding and evidence-based methods to carry out the duties of the post.
- Collaborate with the Physiotherapy Manager and team members to deliver a patient-focused, high-quality service.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Plan and provide patient-centred treatment in a practical, efficient, and well-organised manner.
- Show an ongoing commitment to professional development.
- Carry out patient assessments and create, implement, and review individual treatment plans aligned with best practice.
- Work within professional boundaries and maintain good practice, conduct, and clinical governance standards.
- Practice in line with the scope of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists or the relevant professional body.
Candidate profile
This position requires a physiotherapy qualification, CORU registration, and membership of, or eligibility for membership of, the Irish Society of Physiotherapists (ISCP). At least 1 year of post-graduate experience in physiotherapy services, particularly in orthopaedics (inpatient), is essential. Experience in orthopaedic/MSK outpatient care, respiratory care (surgical and medical), and elderly care is considered an advantage.
