The Role
A global business is seeking a Payroll Officer to join its Gold Coast team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers on-site parking and the chance to work as part of a sizeable payroll function.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering payroll accurately and on schedule, while also giving responsive support to employees and managers. You will work closely with the wider business to build a solid understanding of awards, agreements, and complex pay arrangements, and you will help drive improvements in payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Run weekly payroll for more than 4,000 employees, making sure calculations are correct.
- Review and assess payroll outcomes to confirm compliance with legislation, tax, superannuation, and relevant awards.
- Compile reports, perform reconciliations, and handle other internal payroll reporting tasks.
- Work alongside HR on matters such as new starters, exits, pay changes, and award interpretation.
- Keep employee information accurate, maintain archiving standards, and follow the organisation’s record-retention rules.
- Assist with payroll system enhancements and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience
- Background in processing medium to large payrolls in a complex setting.
- High level of accuracy, strong organisation, and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and a cooperative, team-focused approach.
- Willingness to grow knowledge of technology and digital tools.
