About the Role
Royal Motor Yacht Club Broken Bay is seeking a careful and proactive Payroll Officer to become part of its small, collaborative Finance Team. This part-time position is based onsite in Newport and supports a lively waterfront club environment where community, service, and enjoyment are central.
Reporting to the CFO, you will manage weekly payroll operations and contribute to improvements in the payroll process. The club uses Employment Hero, and this role will involve helping refine systems and workflows to create a smoother experience for managers and employees.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Running weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Acting as the first point of contact for payroll-related questions and support.
- Identifying and driving payroll process enhancements and efficiency gains.
- Working with Employment Hero to introduce updates and improve how payroll workflows operate.
- Supporting, coaching, and guiding managers and staff so payroll processes are easier to understand and use.
- Contributing to a finance team within a dynamic marine and hospitality setting.
What You’ll Need
- At least 3 years of experience in a Payroll Officer position or a similar role.
- Practical experience in payroll administration and financial compliance.
- A detail-focused approach and the ability to manage payroll queries professionally.
- Confidence working with systems and improving administrative processes.
