About the role
Dayforce is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to manage payroll administration for client accounts. This position sits within an outsourced service model, where you’ll support multiple clients alongside a collaborative team. It offers exposure to varied payroll work, ongoing learning, and opportunities to build a long-term career beyond an in-house payroll environment.
Dayforce is a global human capital management company with operations across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific Japan region. Its cloud HCM platform is designed to combine data and continuous calculation capabilities to improve efficiency, productivity, and compliance for organizations worldwide. The company’s promise, “Makes Work Life Better™,” reflects its focus on employees, customers, partners, and communities.
Key duties
- Follow information security standards, policies, and procedures at all times.
- Comply with Dayforce’s code of conduct, values, and internal policies.
- Keep employee records and customer support databases updated so the system contains accurate current information.
- Deliver precise and timely payroll services, including reconciliation and reporting at the end of each pay cycle.
- Prepare and lodge Single Touch Payroll reconciliations, including final STP events.
- Handle inbound phone enquiries, record requests, and support customers with their questions.
- Contribute in team meetings by sharing feedback and operational observations.
- Take part in team learning sessions and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Ensure all payroll deadlines set by Dayforce and the client are met.
- Carry out end-to-end payroll processing in line with legislative requirements.
- Perform analysis, troubleshooting, and testing as needed to support payroll delivery.
- Complete first-round reconciliation for payroll processing, including regular pay runs and off-cycle payments, covering superannuation, tax, and payroll tax where applicable.
- Assist clients with payroll queries and support use of aPay (Ascender Pay) Web Self Service.
- Help prepare ad hoc reporting and other information required for client reporting needs.
Experience and skills
The ideal candidate will bring strong end-to-end payroll experience gained in a busy environment, along with a solid understanding of payroll legislation and awards. Experience with complex calculations, such as terminations and redundancies, is important. A strong customer service mindset, good analytical ability, and intermediate Excel skills are also needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are expected.
Experience with aPay (Ascender Pay) is considered an advantage, although it is not essential because training will be provided. Prior experience in an outsourced service setting is viewed favorably, but it is not mandatory.
