Key responsibilities
- Book, confirm, and update patient appointments in line with department rules and patient needs
- Partner with providers to make sure visits are scheduled correctly and patients are prepared
- Check insurance eligibility and confirm any authorization requirements before services are delivered
- Collect and maintain patient demographic, insurance, and financial details for registration
- Handle messages from patients and providers quickly and accurately
Required qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent credential
- At least 1 year of customer service experience, ideally in healthcare or another service-based setting
- At least 1 year of experience in Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, or a similar area
- Working knowledge of insurance eligibility, plan benefits, and authorization processes
- Strong customer service abilities for supporting patients and providers
Preferred background
- Associate degree or technical degree in business, or a comparable mix of education and related experience
