Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position supports the pastry chef and wider kitchen team with everyday pastry production and service. The role centers on preparing and assembling pastries and desserts, working with doughs, creams, and fillings, and keeping taste, texture, and presentation consistent. You will also follow recipes and production timelines, maintain a clean and organized workspace, handle ingredient inventory and labeling, and contribute ideas for new dessert items when needed.
Key Duties
- Assist with the preparation, baking, and assembly of pastries and desserts.
- Make doughs, creams, and fillings according to set recipes and standards.
- Support consistent quality in flavor, texture, and presentation across products.
- Work in line with production schedules and kitchen instructions.
- Keep work areas, tools, and storage spaces clean, orderly, and hygienic.
- Track pastry ingredients, assist with stock rotation, and ensure items are labeled properly.
- Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to help ensure smooth, timely service.
- Assist the pastry chef with testing and developing new dessert concepts when requested.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a basic foundation in baking and bakery operations, along with interest in pastry work. Good kitchen awareness, safe equipment handling, careful measuring, and recipe-following are important. The role also calls for strong hygiene habits, creativity for presentation support, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and a cooperative attitude in a diverse team environment. Prior experience in a bakery, pastry shop, or restaurant kitchen is helpful but not mandatory.
Work Schedule
This position may require shift-based work, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs.
