Role overview
This position is within a locally owned store that serves the community with health, beauty, and convenience offerings. The focus is on keeping customers at the center of day-to-day store operations while maintaining strong merchandising standards.
Merchandising duties
- Keep backroom stock organized and follow BIMI (Backroom Inventory Management) procedures.
- Use PDT and MMS tools to complete daily work.
- Handle Exit Strategy and product returns when assigned.
- Maintain strong knowledge of assigned product areas, including stock placement and expiry tracking.
- Support store presentation by keeping standards aligned with current image and merchandising trends.
- Build product displays that are customer-friendly and easy to shop.
Receiving duties
- Accept incoming merchandise according to receiving rules and procedures.
- Maintain a tidy, orderly backroom based on backroom organization principles.
- Ensure all required records and paperwork are completed for goods received and returned.
- Assist the Front Store Manager and Assistant Front Store Manager in maintaining quality and standards.
Customer service
- Present a clean, professional appearance that follows uniform and dress-code requirements.
- Proactively acknowledge customers and offer help while they are in the aisles.
General expectations
- Follow all health and safety rules.
- Adhere to store standards at all times.
- Comply with loss prevention procedures and policies.
- Take on other tasks as needed.
Qualifications and experience
The role calls for sound judgement, planning ability, efficiency, organization, and attention to neatness. You should be able to adapt to changing situations on the sales floor. If cash handling is part of the role, accuracy and speed in processing customer orders are essential.
Applicants should have some computer knowledge and cash register experience, along with strong record-keeping habits. The ideal person is detail-oriented, able to work independently, and self-driven.

Compensation and workplace notes
The hiring pay range for this position is $16.75 to $17.00 per hour. Pay may vary based on experience, knowledge, and the geographic area where the store is located. This is a newly created position.
